Thea Baumann

Thea Baumann is a media artist, curator, and producer. Her curatorial interests are informed by nomadic forms of curatorship and cross-cultural exchange. She is Executive Producer for Aphids, an artist-led organisation based in Melbourne focusing on cross-artform production and new music events.

In 2007, Baumann was awarded an Asialink arts management residency and a Brisbane Lord Mayor Fellowship to research and coordinate multi-arts exhibition programmes and initiatives in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam which resulted in The Last Vestige exhibition programme.

In 2004 Thea Baumann co-curated the Zero Gravity exhibition event as a component of the MAAP in Singapore festival. Thea was Special Projects Coordinator for MAAP, supported through the Australia Council for the Arts’ Emerging Producer in Community (EPIC) initiative, where she implemented the media arts and education initiative Manhua Wonderlands, presented as a component of MAAP OUT OF THE INTERNET festival 2006.
