Josephine Starrs

Josephine Starrs is an Australian artist whose video and new media works have been exhibited extensively both in Australia and overseas. She was a founding member of the 1990’s Cyberfeminist group, VNS Matrix, and since 1994 she has also collaborated with Leon Cmielewski on a variety of new media projects including Seeker, screen-based installation 2006, Dream Kitchen, interactive animation 1999, and a.k.a., digital video 2001. Starrs is a Senior Lecturer in Media Arts at Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney.

Starrs exhibited in the Karaoke Bedlam exhibition for Manhua Wonderlands as part of MAAP’s 2006 out of the internet festival, and for the Missile Web Launch as part of MAAP99.
