The Australia Council is supporting a professional placement with MAAP in Shanghai in 2020.
The OCT Contemporary Art Terminal (OCAT) museum group, established with OCAT Shenzhen in 2005, is a growing network of independent, non-profit contemporary art museums across China. OCAT’s programs focus on in-depth surveys, research, publication, and presentation of both individual artists and thematic group exhibitions.
In 2020, OCAT Shanghai is partnering with Brisbane’s MAAP-Media Art Asia Pacific to present a major exhibition considering the rise of East Asian video art. This placement coincides with the delivery of the exhibition in Shanghai. You will assist with curatorial work, liaising with artists and exhibition production, as well as opening and public programs.
Applications are open for curators, arts managers, creative producers and exhibition managers to apply for a 2020 professional placement with MAAP at OCAT Shanghai.
Australia Council support will prove the professional with $12,000 towards the cost of travel. The successful applicant will be responsible for all costs associated with the placement including flights, visas, insurance, accommodation and living expenses.
