MAAP exhibition in Canberra

Zhang Peili exhibition is reviewed in the Canberra Times offering a glimpse into the exhibition’s collaborative approach while highlighting the rare and generous donation by artist Lois Conner, to the Australian Centre on China in the World at the Australian National University. You can read the article here. Co curator of the exhibition and director of MAAP Kim Machan commented ‘There is such a great feeling of friendship and goodwill in this exhibition. It is quite extraordinary to see so many links from Australia that connect to China through Zhang Peili and his artistic projects over the years’. A publication is now being produced that will document the exhibition and include interviews, articles and commentary by the exhibition curators Olivier Krischer and Kim Machan; Scholar and founding Director of the Australian Centre on China in the World Geremie Barmé; Emeritus Professor John Clark; Katherine Gruber and others. The exhibition continues until 15 November, though there are already rumours that it may be extended – watch this space!
